Pinpoint Test A: The Power Sunshade is Inoperative

The sunshade motor must be initialized whenever the sunshade motor has been removed from the vehicle. Refer to Motor Initialization  See:
Programming and Relearning.

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 104, Power Sunshade for schematic and connector information.  See: Diagrams/Electrical Diagrams/Diagrams By Number

Normal Operation

The sunshade motor receives voltage from the accessory delay relay through circuit CBP41 (BU) when the vehicle is in the ACC or RUN position. The
sunshade motor receives voltage at all times through circuit SBB29 (GY/RD). Ground is supplied to the sunshade motor and sunshade switch through
circuit GD133 (BK). When the sunshade switch is pressed, a ground signal is provided to the sunshade motor through circuit CPR37 (YE/GY) to open
the sunshade. When the sunshade switch is pulled, a ground signal is provided to the sunshade motor through circuit CPR32 (YE/GN) to close the
sunshade. For information about the sunshade operation, refer to the Owner's Literature.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

Fuse(s)

-

Accessory delay relay

-

Sunshade motor not initialized

-

Wiring, terminals or connectors

-

Sunshade switch

-

Sunshade motor

PINPOINT TEST A: THE POWER SUNSHADE IS INOPERATIVE

A1 CHECK THE POWER WINDOWS

-

Ignition ON.

-

Attempt to operate the power windows.

-

Do the power windows operate?

Yes

GO to A2.

No

REFER to Windows and Glass to diagnose the inoperative power windows (accessory delay relay circuit).

A2 CHECK THE SUNSHADE MOTOR FOR INITIALIZATION

-

Attempt to carry out the sunshade motor initialization procedure. Refer to Motor Initialization  See: Programming and Relearning.

-

Is the concern still present, or does the sunshade motor fail to initialize?

Yes

GO to A3.

No

The system is operating normally at this time. The sunshade motor was not initialized.
