Body - Rattle/Squeak From Roof Opening Panel

ROOF OPENING PANEL SQUEAK/RATTLE

ISSUE
Some 2007 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX vehicles equipped with a roof opening panel may exhibit a rattle or squeak from the rear glass area. This may
be caused by the delamination of the rear trim ring hook and loop (Velcro) adhesive. Inspect the rear trim ring and if loose, determine if the loop tape has
delaminated from the plastic trim ring.

ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

If delamination of the hook and loop has occurred, use the following procedure to correct the concern. If no delamination has occurred, follow normal
Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 100-04 diagnostics.

1.

Remove rear trim ring per WSM, Section 501-17.

2.

Inspect all loop tape locations for delamination. (Figure 1)

3.

Remove all delaminated loop tape from module. (Figure 2)
