Repeat for the other differential bearing.
38. NOTE: Make sure the indicator needle is in the spreader adapter hole.
Install the Dial Indicator Bracketry and Dial Indicator.

Install the Differential Housing Spreader.

Install the Dial Indicator Bracketry, the Dial Indicator and the Clutch Housing Alignment Adapter.
39. CAUTION: Overspreading can cause damage to the front axle housing.
Spread the front axle housing.
40. CAUTION: Never attempt to drive differential bearing shim in place. The front axle housing machined surfaces can be permanently damaged.
If removed, position the differential bearing shims.

Apply a light coating of Premium Long Life Grease XG-1-C or -K or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESA-M1C75-B to one side of the
differential bearing shims to help hold them in place.

Position the differential bearing shims.
