Accumulator HVAC: Service and Repair
1.
Discharge refrigerant from system.
2.
Disconnect electrical connector from pressure switch and remove switch.
3.
Disconnect suction hose from accumulator and cap suction hose.
4.
Loosen fitting connecting accumulator to evaporator core.
5.
Remove accumulator strap to mounting bracket attaching screw.
6.
Disconnect accumulator from evaporator core and remove strap from accumulator.
7.
Reverse procedure to install. Use new O-ring lubricated with refrigerant oil. When replacing suction accumulator in a refrigerant system that
contains a six cylinder compressor, add one ounce of refrigerant oil to the accumulator.
8.
Leak test, evacuate and charge system.
