Power Steering Fluid Cooler: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

WARNING:  TURN AIR SUSPENSION SERVICE SWITCH (LOCATED IN LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT) OFF TO PREVENT
VEHICLE DAMAGE OR PERSONAL INJURY. 

1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
2. Remove lower radiator air deflector.
3. Remove two clamps. Remove power steering pressure hose and power steering return hose from power steering fluid cooler. Drain fluid into a

container.

4. Remove two mounting bolts and power steering fluid cooler. Drain power steering fluid cooler into a container.

INSTALLATION 

1. Position power steering fluid cooler on crossmember. Install two bolts. Tighten to 9-12 Nm (80-106 inch lbs.). 
2. Install power steering pressure hose and power steering return hose onto power steering fluid cooler. Install two clamps.
3. Install lower radiator air deflector.
4. Lower vehicle. Turn air suspension service switch ON.
5. Fill power steering pump reservoir with Power Steering Fluid MERCON ATF.
