Crankshaft Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

1.

Select VOLTS AC on multimeter and connect the multimeter to terminals 1 and 2 of the EDS test connector, located next to the battery.  Run
engine at idle and check voltage reading.  If voltage reading is greater than 2.8 volts AC, sensor is working properly.  If the signal is less than 2.8
volts AC, proceed with step 2.

Shut off the engine, disconnect the ring gear speed sensor, and check resistance at the terminals of the connector.  If the resistance is not between
1700 and 2100 Ohms, replace the speed sensor.
