MODELS 124 AND 201 WITH ENGINES 601, 602, 603 MODIFICATION OF HARNESS ROUTING TO PREGLOW TIME-LIMIT RELAY
MODULE, CIRCUIT 30
Complaint
To eliminate intermittent complaints of the ABS malfunction indicator lamp remaining illuminated for several seconds after engine start, the harness
routing to the preglow time-limit relay module circuit 30 must be modified according to the procedure described in this bulletin. This should only be
performed after performing a complete ABS diagnostic test.
Repair Procedure For E-Class (124 Chassis)
Model 124:
1.
Disconnect and cover battery negative terminal.
2.
Disconnect circuit 30 wire from preglow time-limit relay module (N14) (Figure 1).
3.
Cut off ring terminal.
4.
Disconnect circuit 30 wire from the preglow time-limit relay module (N14) at X4 (beneath rear of fusebox, in passenger compartment), cut off ring
terminal (Figure 2).
CAUTION! Make sure you cut the correct wire.
5.
Insulate both wire ends and tape them to the harness.
