ABS Light: Description and Operation
The instrument panel mounted amber ANTI-LOCK warning lamp is part of the driver warning system. The ANTI-LOCK lamp is ECU controlled, and
illuminates to warn the driver that anti-lock braking capability is partly or totally inhibited. When both the red BRAKE lamp and the amber ANTI-LOCK
lamps are on, conditions affecting both the conventional and anti-lock brake systems exists. However, when only the amber ANTI-LOCK lamp is on,
conventional braking is available. The amber ANTI-LOCK lamp should be on when the ECU detects an ABS electrical problem or the ECU loses power
or ground.
