In the case of older engines, the oil pipe (2) is only attached with two screws M5X10 (1) at rocker arm bearing brackets 1 and 5 (Figure 2). A
retaining plate (4, Figure 2) must be installed in these engines if not already equipped (see Service Information MBNA 05/3a, 18/7a, April 1989,
point 1.4).

The retaining plate is attached with the screw (3, Figure 2) for rocker arm bearing bracket 3 (tightening torque: 21 Nm). When installing the plate, do not
use a washer and do not use Loctite on screw (3, Figure 2).
