HEAD LOCK STRIPS FOR LOCATING WINDSHIELD DURING INSTALLATION MODEL 124
As of September 1986, adhesive back head lock strips are attached to the body and to the windshield to position the windshield during installation. These
strips replace the previously used angle brackets and rubber buffers.
Repair Note:
Should these strips become damaged when removing the windshield, they can be replaced by following the procedure below..
Vehicles prior to production phase-in can continue to use the previous version (angle brackets with rubber buffers).
Procedure
1.
Using a lint-free cloth, apply solvent to the area of the windshield where the head lock strip is to be affixed. Then rub the area dry with a second
cloth.
CAUTION! Do not apply the solvent in the windshield's field of vision as this may cause cloudiness.
2.
Affix the head lock strips to the lower left and right portions of the windshield
Dimension a = 118 mm Dimension b = 30 mm
3.
Using a lint-free cloth soaked in solvent, clean the area of the body flange where the mating half of each head lock strip is to be affixed. Then rub
the area dry with a second cloth.
4.
Affix the head lock strips to the lower left and right portions of the body flange.
Dimension a = 120 mm Dimension b = 60 mm
