Front Door Exterior Handle: Service and Repair

Replacement of Exterior Door Handle on Driver's Door

Cover (1) 

press off.

Screw (2) 

screw out and remove.

Door handle (3) 

press toward front and remove. Observe installation note!

Door handle (3) 

install with base (4) so that rotating rod from lock cylinder (5) and actuating lever on handle (6) engages in door lock.

Screw (2) 

screw in (6 Nm).

Cover (1) 

install.

Door sealing frame 

pull out of channel in area of door lock.

Clearance between door lock and door handle 

adjust, arrest door lock with special tool and turn adjustment screw to outside until resistance is felt. Use Phillips screwdriver.

Door sealing frame 

install.

Function 

check.

Installation note

Adjust position of door handle on door panelling with screw (7) (Allen wrench, WAF 3 mm 1.5 Nm).
