As of April 1990 production, an ACC push-button control panel with failure code display for diagnosing the automatic climate control is phased in. The
new control panel is recognizable by displaying the words "HI" or "LO" when turning the temperature wheel to either end position.
Continue to use test cable 129 589 03 63 00 with socket box and multimeter for testing automatic climate controls without failure code display.
The test procedures for both Systems are described in Section 8/1 of the Diagnostic Manual, R 129, Body and Accessories, Volume 1.
