SUBJECT:
ALL DIESEL ENGINES MOUNTING STUDS FOR OIL FILTER COVER

When replacing oil filter cover mounting studs on an oil filter housing with blind end bores (A), using stud 615 990 01 05 with tapered tip (arrow), it
should be ensured that the stud thread (a) to be screwed into the blind end bore is shortened from 24 mm to 16 mm.

Due to a change in hardness of the stud from 10.9 to 12.9, a matching hex. nut 615 990 00 50 should also be installed.

Note:
Tapered tip must be on top.
Tightening torque: 20 to 25 N-m 
Do not overtorque!
