Cabin Temperature Sensor / Switch: Testing and Inspection

In-Car Temperature Sensor

1. Remove in-car temperature sensor.
2. Connect ohmmeter across sensor pins.
3. Allow sensor to stabilize to ambient temperature.
4. Compare readings to specifications below.

AMBIENT TEMPERATURE

+15°C (+59°F) .............................................................................................................................................................................................  15.7 ± 0.5 kohm
+25°C (+77°F) .............................................................................................................................................................................................  10.0 ± 0.5 kohm
+35°C (+95°F)................................................................................................................................................................................................  6.5 ± 0.5 kohm
+60°C (+140°F)..............................................................................................................................................................................................  2.5 ± 0.5 kohm

5. If nominal values are incorrect, replace in-car temperature sensor.
