THROTTLE BUSHING
--- FOLLOW-UP: UNCHECKED CARS ---
Enclosed is a sample copy of a letter which all owners of vehicles within the Effective Serial Number Range will receive in the near future.
This campaign is initiated because MBNA has determined that as a result of the effects of wear and engine heat, the accelerator control bowden cable
throttle bushing could deform and permit the cable to pull through. If this occurs, the engine will either stay at or return to an idle speed. Therefore, the
throttle bushing must be inspected and - if an old version part - replaced with a newly designed part manufactured of a more heat resistant material.
with your order for replacement throttle bushings you will also receive a supply of recall campaign labels from the PDC. After finishing the recall
campaign work, the self-adhesive label must be completed legibly in ink with numbers for the recall campaign and the dealer code. The label should be
affixed next to the emission control information label (above the headlight) on the cross member in front of the radiator.
