OPERATION & CARE MANUAL 380SL TOPS

An Operation and Care Manual is now available and should be used by the Service Manager and the other by the Sales Manager to instruct customers
before they have operational difficulties with their R107 tops.

This manual was found to be necessary mainly in order to eliminate the following most common mistakes that result in damage to the vehicle or top:
Owner tries to remove hardtop (unassisted) and rear locking pin gouges paint (pp. 7, 16); top edges are not tucked down for storage causing curling (pp.
15, 16); the second bow is not folded rearward ripping top material and bending frame (p. 15).

The manual is also being supplied to all VPC's and from now on included in the new vehicle literature package. Therefore, the important aspects of
handling and maintaining the tops should be reviewed by the sales manager, with the customer at the time of the sale using the copy provided in the
vehicle.

A limited supply of the manual is available for your customers with older 450 and 380SL's that may have experienced problems with the hard or soft top.
For this purpose additional copies may be ordered from the Technical Publications Department.
