Remove securing clip (Figure 6, arrow) from latch plate pin and tap out pin to remove latch plate.

Remove plastic washer (Figure 7, arrow) from the flange-washer.

Modify the latch plate by grinding away enough of the welding bead to eliminate interference to the flange-washer (Figure 8, arrow). If
necessary, a new latch plate may be installed.
