NEW CAPS FOR RADIAThR OR EXPANSION TA~K ALL MODELS
Since August 1983 production, caps with a higher opening pressure of 1.2 +/- 0.2 bar (previously 1.0 +/- 0.2 bar) are installed. The new caps have the
code number 120 (previous code number 100). The new caps can also be installed on earlier production vehicles.
The higher opening pressure ensures a minimum pressure of 1 bar gauge pressure in the cooling system and provides increased protection against coolant
loss through the overflow hose
The replacement version cap has a spring-loaded filler neck seat with an additional rubber gasket. The production version cap has a rigid filler neck seat
(Figure 1).

NOTE:
Supplies of the previous caps with code number 100 (part no. 123 501 01 15) may be used up, except on vehicles with 8-cylinder engines.
