Oil Pan: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation
Removal

Remove fan shroud and fan. See: Cooling System

Remove front axle.
Engine 116.961 (USA), 1981

Remove refrigerant compressor with carrier.

Remove support angle from transmission (1st version engine 117.96O with intermediate flange).
5
Unscrew bracket for oil dipstick guide tube.
6
Unscrew oil pan and remove downwards together with oil dipstick guide tube.
Installation

Prior to installation, use grease to attach new gasket to the oil pan.

The further installation takes place in the sequence vice versa to the removal.
