Speedometers - Replacement Shows Higher Maximum Speed

Speedometers showing a maximum speed of 85 mph are installed in vehicles of the above chassis and model years.. As of Model Year 1983, an
speedometers show a maximum speed higher than 85 mph. The maximum speed on the speedometer will differ depending on the car model.

If such a speedometer is installed in any of the subject vehicles, Model Year 1981 and 1982, a label (Figure 1) should be applied to the instrument
cluster (as shown in Figure 2) to alert the owner of the different needle positioning.
