Tires - Traction Device `Spikes-Spider' is Not Approved

SPIKES-SPIDER TRACTION DEVICE

It has come to our attention that some Mercedes-Benz dealers are purchasing a traction aid device called Spikes-Spider.

The use of the Spikes-Spider traction aid device IS NOT APPROVED FOR USE ON ANY MERCEDES-BENZ VEHICLE.

Special lug bolts, which we have no design or quality control over, are required to attach the eight plastic arms onto a hub which is then secured with a
retaining ring.

Additional information received from DBAG shows that the traction improvement on an incline can be insufficient for take-off.
