SUBJECT:
SUBSEQUENT INSTALLATION OF ACCELERATION ENRICHMENT SWITCH VEHICLES WITH ENGINE 116 OR 117 MODEL YEARS 1981 - 1984
Beginning with model year 1985 production, an acceleration enrichment switch is installed in vehicles with engines 116 and 117.
If engine performance and acceleration is unsatisfactory during the warm-up period of previous vehicles (M.Y. 1981 - 1984), an acceleration enrichment
switch can be installed to improve acceleration and performance for engines 116 and 117.
The attached Work Instructions (No. 168) describe the installation of the vacuum actuated acceleration enrichment switch and the required parts.
For additional information, refer to Group 05 in the Diagnostic Directory under "Poor Engine Performance During Warm-Up", coordinate G-2.
