Mercedes Benz 500 Series workshop manuals
Mercedes-Benz 500 Series at a glance: 8 manuals, covering 1984 to 1993 models, with engines from 5.0 to 5.6 litres.
About the 500 Series
These are the 5.0 and 5.6-litre V8 models from before 1993, when Mercedes-Benz model names put the engine size first (500SEL rather than S 500). They cover the big S-Class saloons and coupes, the SL roadsters and the 500E, a W124 developed with Porsche and assembled at Porsche's Zuffenhausen plant because its wider wings would not fit the Mercedes line.
What these manuals cover
- W126 S-Class (1984–1989): the 500SEL, 560SEL and 560SEC.
- SL: the 560SL (R107, 1989) and the 500SL (R129, 1990–1993).
- Others: the 500E (W124, 1992) and the 500SEC (W140, 1993).
Tip: the first number in brackets is the model code (126.039 is a W126), and the second is the engine code (117.968 is an M117 V8).
