Position the top mounting bracket on the CD changer shell as shown in Figure 3 and fasten it with a 6x12 mm bolt.

Temporarily install the CD changer shell assembly and fasten the bottom bracket with two 6.3x1 6 mm sheet metal screws.

9.

Mark the location of the mounting hole for the top mounting bracket. Drill a 6 mm hole through the liner into the liner support bracket. Using a
crayon, lightly mark the outline of the top mounting bracket on the liner.

10.

Remove the CD changer shell assembly and remove the top mounting bracket.

11.

Remove the left rear wheel well liner. Locate the mounting hole for the top mounting bracket and paint it with zinc paint.

12.

Clean all debris from the drilling.

13.

Remove the long shipping screws from the CD changer and install them in two of the four storage holes on the bottom of the CD changer. Loosely
install the lower two (short) 4 mm mounting bolts in their place.

B. Wiring and Cable Connection

1.

Remove the radio bus cable (white connector) from the radio tuner/amplifier, add the bus extension cable and connect to the CD changer (white
socket) connection marked "Frontgeraet".

2.

Connect the CD changer bus cable (black connector) to the CD changer (white socket marked with black dot) connection marked "Tuner", and the
other end to the radio receiver (the socket which was freed in the previous step).

3.

Remove the power supply cable and add the Y-piece/extension. Connect short end of Y-piece/extension to radio power socket and long end to CD
changer power socket.

4.

Place the CD changer atop the spare tire compartment and neatly secure all cables using wire loom ties (not supplied).

5.

Reinstall the wheel well liner, leaving the rear section open to provide access.

6.

Install the top mounting bracket using the 6 mm bolt (through the liner and the liner support bracket).

 HINT:

Install the nut and washer by reaching behind the  liner/support bracket. Position the top bracket in the outlined area (step g in section A) and fasten
the bolt/nut.

7.

Install the CD changer shell assembly and fasten the top mounting bracket with the bolt, then the bottom bracket with sheet metal screws.

8.

Reinstall the trunk floor mat.

9.

Resecure the wheel well liner.

C. CD Changer Installation

1.

Slide the CD changer in the mounting shell, guide the lower mounting bolts in the mounting slots until they are properly seated.

Note: 

The arrow on top of the CD changer has to point toward the front of the vehicle.

2.

Install the upper two mounting bolts and secure finger tight.

Make sure that the CD changer is properly seated in the shell. Fasten all mounting bolts.

3.

Install the CD changer protective cover.

D. Testing the Operation of the CD Changer

1.

Familiarize yourself with the CD player operation.

2.

Insert a CD in the magazine.

3.

Open the CD changer door and insert the CD magazine. Close the CD changer door.

4.

Turn the radio on and, using the CD changer "mode" button, select the CD playing mode. The radio will begin to play and the display will indicate
"CD" mode, track # and the CD #.

5.

Follow the radio/CD instructions in the operating manual to verify the CD player/changer features.
