Testing Thermostat in Oil Filter
NOTE: The thermostat in the oil filter is only installed in vehicles with air oil cooler.

Exchange oil dipstick for flexible heat sensor of remote thermometer.

Run engine at increased speed and watch remote thermometer.

As from an engine oil temperature of approx. 110 ° C, a clear temperature increase should be felt (by hand) on the air oil cooler. If not, replace the
thermostat.
