Warning Message in Instrument Cluster: "Coolant Level Too Low" No External Coolant Loss
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the below warning message in the instrument cluster display, this may be caused by
the sealing rings for the coolant ducts of the coolant pump between timing case and crankcase leaking which allows coolant to enter the oil pan via
the timing case.
Warning Message in Instrument Cluster Display:
"Coolant level too low; and no external coolant loss detectable; engine oil level may be too high"
To resolve, perform the following procedure.
1.
Remove the cylinder head cover.
2.
Pressurize the cooling system.
3.
Check whether coolant emerges at the relevant separation point between the timing case cover and the crankcase.
