Code P2029 and/or P2046 in Engine Control Module
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles, MIL activated due to code P2029 (PO172) adaption of mixture formation at rich stop,
and/or P2046 (PO130) 02 Sensor upstream (G3/2), sensor signal implausible, please refer to the below causes and related remedies.
Cause 1:
P2029 (PO172) and P2046 (PO130) stored in engine control module - 02 sensor.
Remedy:
Replace 02 sensor (in front of catalyst).
Cause 2:
P2046 (PO130) stored in engine control module - Engine wiring harness.
Remedy:
Check engine wiring harness as follows:
1.
Loosen 02 sensor connector (in front of catalyst) from engine wiring harness.
2.
Measure resistance on engine wiring harness connector between Pin 2 and Pin 6.
Nominal resistance = 62 Ohm (+/-5 Ohm).
3.
If measured resistance is outside of tolerance, disconnect engine wiring harness connector from engine control module and check for damage -
repair as necessary.
4.
If connector at engine control module is OK, replace engine wiring harness.
Cause 3:
P2029 (PO172) stored in engine control module - Hose for partial load ventilation torn at crankcase connection fitting.
Remedy:
