Charging System - Alternator Inop/Battery Not Charging

Alternator Fuse Defective and/or Battery Not Charging

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that the alternator is non-operational or the battery is not charging, the alternator fuse (which
is insulated using a heat-shrinkable tube and a HTI tube and secured to the transmission bell housing by a bracket) may be damaged. This can result in
the wiring harness intermittently making contact with the bracket. To resolve, perform the following.

1. Inspect wiring harness (Figure 1) for damage.

2. Replace starter/alternator wiring harness if it is damaged.

3. Return the defective harness to the QEC for inspection.
