Noises from Shaft for Front Seat Tilt Adjustment
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles, where load changes produce noises from the shaft for the front seat tilt adjustment, do not
replace the seat adjustment mechanism. To resolve, coat the tilt adjustment shaft and both left and right bearing brackets with lubricant, part no. 001 989
50 51.
Note:
Only the lubricant stated above is to be used to eliminate noises produced by plastic parts. Commercially available greases may contain components
which extract the softening agent out of plastics, causing the bearing bracket to break.
Procedure:
1.
Remove front seat, refer to WIS document AR91.10-P-1000P.
2.
Place front seat on a suitable supporting surface with the underside facing up.
3.
Press out the plastic pins on the left and right bearing bracket and remove (brackets are clipped into place). Bearing brackets and plastic pins are
not reusable.
4.
Apply lubricant to the contact surfaces of the bearing brackets and the tilt adjustment shaft.
5.
Perform the above steps in reverse order to reinstall seat.
