Remove pressure cap (1, Figure 1) from expansion tank (2).

Check coolant strength using an available coolant tester (e.g., refractometer).

If coolant is weaker than -37 °C protection (-.36 °C, -.35 °C, etc.) proceed to step 2.
Note:
Coolant should provide antifreeze protection down to at least -37 °C (50% by volume).

If coolant strength is within specifications, reinstall pressure cap (1), campaign is complete.
2.
Remove 1.5 L of coolant from expansion reservoir (2) using a fluid removal device (suction gun, coolant exchanger system, etc.).
Note:
Dispose of used coolant properly.
3.
Add 1.5 L of new coolant to expansion reservoir (2).
4.
Reinstall pressure cap (1) to expansion tank.
