Illustrated: Measurement On Rear Axle
1
Prepare for chassis alignment check
NOTE: Following repair work forcefully move vehicle up and down several times before measuring.
2
Check vehicle level on front axle via cross strut inclination.
CAUTION: The connecting cable (086b) of the measurement sensor (086a) must point towards the center of the vehicle otherwise a
faulty measurement occurs.
Fit measurement sensor (086a) and save each measured value.
-
Measurement point 1 (left front)
-
Measurement point 2 (right front)
-
Vehicle level - front axle
2.2 Check vehicle level at front axle via transverse control arm inclination
CAUTION: The connecting cable (086b) of the measurement sensor (086a) must point towards the center of the vehicle otherwise a
faulty measurement occurs.
Fit measurement sensor (086a) and save each measured value.
-
Measurement point 1 (left front)
-
Measurement point 2 (right front)
-
Vehicle level - front axle
3
Check vehicle level at the rear axle via the rear axle shaft inclination.
CAUTION: The connecting cable (086b) of the measurement sensor (086a) must point towards the center of the vehicle otherwise a
faulty measurement occurs.
Fit measurement sensor (086a) and save each measured value.
-
Measurement point 1 (left front)
-
Measurement point 2 (right front)
-
Vehicle level - front axle
NOTE: Vehicle level outside tolerance at front or rear axle.
-
Adjust vehicle level by changing the springs or spring rubber mounts.
AR40.20-P-0325P Check Toe-Out on Turns
Check Toe-out On Turns
1
Check and adjust front toe angle
2
Check toe-out on turns
NOTE:
-
The steering geometry is checked by measuring the toe-out on turns. This is the difference in the steer angle between the outside wheel and the
inside wheel when the inside wheel is steered through 20 degrees.
