Wiper Motor Linkage: Service and Repair

Removing And Installing Wiper Linkage

Removal

Remove ignition key

Remove wiper arm

3

Open engine hood, raise to vertical position

Remove air inlet

Remove wiper system

Adjust basic setting of wiper gear head

Unscrew nut of wiper gear head shaft (1)

Press off crank arm of wiper gear head (2)

Unscrew wiper motor shaft nut

10 Press wiper linkage (3) off crank arm of wiper motor (4)
11 Take off wiper linkage (3)

Installation

12 Move wiper motor into parking position
13 Fit on wiper linkage (3)
14 Press wiper linkage (3) onto crank arm of wiper motor (4)
15 Screw on wiper motor shaft nut

Wiper motor shaft nut - 19 N.m

16 Basic setting of wiper gear head
17 Press crank arm (2) onto shaft of wiper gear head

-

Pay attention to setting: crank arm of wiper motor (4) and wiper linkage (3) must be installed in extended position

18 Screw nut onto shaft of wiper gear head (1)

Nut of wiper gear head shaft - 19 N.m

19 Install wiper system
20 Install wiper arm
21 Install air inlet
22 Close engine hood
