Model 215.374/375/376, as of VIN 007961 up to 031547, with Bi-Xenon Headlamp Unit Erroneous error message in instrument cluster "Check Left /
Right Low Beam"

In individual cases, error recognition for the headlamp's low beams in the left or right front SAM control module may react too sensitively due to
hardware tolerance within the SAM control module. When this occurs, an error message will be displayed in the instrument cluster. If you encounter
customer reports of such a condition perform the following procedure.

1.

Using STAR Diagnosis perform a Short Test.

2.

Verify that the following DTC B1630 is stored within the SAM control module.

B1630 - Left Front SAM - Component E2e2 (low beam) in module E2 (right front headlamp unit) is faulty.

B1630 - Right Front SAM - Component E1e2 (low beam) in module E1 (left front headlamp unit) is faulty.

3.

Switch on the vehicle's headlamps, and verify that the headlamp's low beams are properly functioning.

4.

Using STAR Diagnosis, enter into the following menus from the Short Test" screen:
SAM-FL/FR --> Control Unit Version.

5.

From the Control Unit Version screen, record the SAM control module's part number.

6.

Verify that the SAM control module's part number is older than 032 545 82/83 32, and replace the SAM control module. Reference WIS
document AR54.21-P-1260| for left SAM and AR-54.21-P-1261| for right SAM.
