INSTALLING CORRUGATED PROTECTION SLEEVE OVER THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE
During the course of routine maintenance, it is possible to route and reattach a disconnected positive battery cable (arrow, Figure 1) in a manner that
results in chafing against the right fender panel with attendant noise and wear. Rather than modify repair instructions with more complicated cautionary
language, we have determined that the addition of a corrugated protective sleeve will address this situation under any routing following maintenance.
Please complete this modification at the next service. Prior to performing this Service Campaign, please check VMI.

This bulletin has been created and maintained in accordance with MBUSA-SLP 5.1, Document and Data Control, and MBUSA-SLP 16.1, Control of
Quality Records.
PROCEDURE
1.
Remove right hand trunk liner panel (see WIS document: AR68. 30-P4600M) along with battery access panel.
2.
Connect quiescent current retention unit (see WIS document: AR54. 10-P-1030-071) to battery.
3.
Next disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery (see WIS document: AR54. 10-P-00031).
4.
Observe routing of the positive battery cable from the battery into the interior right hand fender area (arrow, Figure 1).
5.
Disconnect the positive battery cable and carefully move aside from battery positive terminal.
