Sporadic Sound Interruptions From Speakers

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of sporadic sound interruptions from the speakers, please check version of Bose amplifier
per the below procedure.

Select the correct model
Select Control Units
Select Information and communication
Select Audio, video, navigation and telematics
Select SOUND - Bose sound system
Select Control unit version

At this point, please verify the software status (SW). If the software status is 34/03 please contact the Technical Assistance Center for further diagnosis.
If the software status is lower than 34/03, please update the Bose amplifier per the below procedure using DAS version 03/04 or newer and CD labeled
SDflash release CD 03/04.

Note: 

Ensure that system voltage is above 12.5 V during update process. Use battery charger or start the engine. Turn off all unnecessary electrical
consumers ex. AC, lights,

Insert CD labeled "SDflash Release CD 03/04" into Star Diagnosis CD drive (it must stay in the drive during the flash)

Select the correct model
Select Control units
Select Information and communication
Select Audio, video, navigation and telematics
Select SOUND - Bose sound system
Select Initial startup
Select Control module programming
Select SDflash release - Determination of new control unit software and subsequent control
unit programming
Erase fault memory
Exit DAS, disconnect from vehicle's diagnostic port and remove ignition key.
Wait approximately 3 minutes and then start diagnosis with SDS again.
Perform Short Test and clear all DTCs.

After updating, please check the version (software status should be 34/03) of the BOSE amplifier and insure the version coding has been successful.

The following allowable labor operations should be used when submitting a warranty claim for this repair.
