Radiator: Service and Repair

Removing And Installing Radiator

Remove bottom engine compartment paneling

DANGER:
-

Risk of injury to skin and eyes from scalding from escaping hot coolant. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

-

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 degrees C.

-

Open cap slowly and release the pressure.

-

Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles.

-

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.

CAUTION:  See notes on coolant

Drain coolant at radiator (1)

NOTE:  Open drain plug of radiator (3).

Disconnect automatic oil lines at connection (5, 6) at radiator (1)

NOTE:  Seal oil lines.

Disconnect coolant line (radiator and thermostat housing) (2) at radiator (1)

Disconnect connection of coolant line (radiator and coolant pump) (7), connection of coolant line (radiator and expansion reservoir) (10) at
radiator (1)

Remove fan shroud (9).

Dismount condenser at nuts (8) at radiator

NOTE:  Dismount AC line at radiator (arrow).

Dismount bracket of radiator (4).

Take out radiator (1)

NOTE:  Installation:  The studs on the radiator must be seated at the bottom in the rubber mounts of the crossmember.

Install in the reverse order
