the engine during start-up or while running may result in contusions and burns.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.
1.1 Remove key from electronic ignition switch control module

Model 211,230, 240
NOTE: Vehicles with Keyless-Go Code 889: press Start/Stop button repeatedly until ignition is switched off.
2.1 Switch off ignition

Except model 211, 230, 240
NOTE: Leave key in steering lock (8) in position 0 during the entire process.

Connect compression recorder (01)

Crank engine

Press contact switch (02) of the compression recorder (01) for this step.
NOTE: Do not crank the engine via the steering lock (8), electronic ignition switch control module or Start/Stop button.

NOTE:

If the ignition was switched on during the process: Read out fault memory and erase if necessary.

Stored faults which may have been caused by removal and installation or test operations must be erased from the diagnostic fault code
memories after completing the work.
