Clutch Slave Cylinder: Description and Operation
Hydraulic clutch release mechanism: operation
Operation
The pressure plunger (13g) is operated hydraulically and pushed forward on the sleeve (13h). The thrust ring (13b) pushes against the disk spring of
the clutch and actuates it.
The internal seal is provided by a collar seal (13f).
The boot (13d) is designed to protect the running surface of the central clutch operator from dirt. The pretension spring (13e) ensures, when the clutch
is not operated, that the thrust bearing is subjected always only to a minimal load in order to avoid bearing noises.
Function with clutch open
The automated manual transmission control module (N15/6) actuates the automated manual transmission clutch solenoid valve (Y90) in the valve
block (B).
The solenoid valve directs the hydraulic pressure (p) into pressure chamber I of the hydraulic central clutch operator (A). The pressure piston (A2) is
pushed forward toward the disk spring. The thrust ring pushes against the disk spring of the clutch and opens it.
