Risk of breakage:  Do not kink or stretch fiber optic cables and do not route them over sharp edges. The bending radius must not be smaller than 25
mm. Clamps or cable ties for securing the fiber optic cables must not be fastened too tightly.

Expose on-board fiber optic cable connector (45) of UPCI preinstallation.

Remove on-board MOST coupling (26) from fiber optic cable connector (45).

The fiber optic cable connector (45) is no longer required.

Fit on-board MOST coupling (26) in connector (63) of SDAR wiring harness (50).

Route MOST fiber optic cable wiring harness (20) parallel to on-board MOST fiber optic cable (27) as per picture and fix in place.

Secure MOST coupling housing (21) of MOST fiber optic cable wiring harness (20) to on-board wiring harnesses as per picture.

The MOST fiber optic cable wiring harness (20) replaces the UPCI preinstallation and is connected at a later stage.

After installing SDAR control unit (1), secure MOST fiber optic cable wiring harness (20) and on-board MOST fiber optic cable (27) to SDAR
control unit (1) as per picture using self-adhesive felt (70).

Attach self-adhesive felt as chafe protection to edges (see arrow) of bracket for SDAR control unit (1).

Vehicles with CD changer (code 819)

Fold back floor covering from center tunnel in front passenger footwell.

Expose MOST separation points on center tunnel.

Connect MOST fiber optic cable for UPCI preinstallation at MOST separation points (see arrows) to MOST ring.

It must be ensured that the MOST fiber optic cable for UPCI preinstallation is connected to the MOST ring as per the MOST ring sequence.

Fit floor covering on center tunnel in front passenger footwell.
