Risk of explosion from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury with caustic
burns to eyes and skin from battery electrolyte or from handling damaged lead-acid batteries

No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking.

Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and eye protection Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Disconnect ground cable of battery

2.1 Remove control and display system with control module

With Code (352a) COMAND operating and display system

2.2 Remove radio

-

Except Code (352a) COMAND operating and display system

Remove shelf below radio

Remove lower section of instrument pane

NOTE:  Driver's side

Remove ignition key cable (1) from electronic selector lever module control module (N15/5)

NOTE:  Push retaining lug (1b) together and press coupling (1c) against spring load into electronic selector lever module control module (N15/5),
rotate through 90 degrees  (to left or right) and remove ignition key cable (1).

Slide suspension (3) upwards

NOTE:  Expose ignition key cable (1) and electric cable (2) to automatic air conditioning control module (coupling 3-pin).

Unscrew bolts (4)

NOTE:  Three bolts

Remove left ventilation flap actuator motor (M2/19)

Detach coupling (3)

Install in the reverse order

Normalize left ventilation flap actuator motor (M2/19)

Read diagnostic trouble code memory and erase

13

Perform basic programming.
