The footwell flaps are opened linearly up to 100 %, depending on the following values:

Blend air flap setting

^

Coolant temperature

^

Evaporator temperature

Fresh air flap/recirculated air flap actuator motor (M2/5)

The fresh air flap/recirculated air flap actuator motor (M2/5) is used to close or open the fresh air supply by operating the fresh air flaps and recirculated
air flaps.
By pressing the air recirculation switch (N22s2) (< 1.5 s) at the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit (N22), the fresh air/air recirculation flaps
actuator motor (M2/5) is actuated via the AC bus.
For recirculated air mode the fresh air supply is closed. Air is drawn out of the vehicle interior into the air conditioner housing.
For fresh air mode the fresh air supply is open. Fresh air is drawn into the air conditioner housing.

If the air recirculation switch (N22s2) is operated manually the system immediately enters time-limited 100% air recirculation. This is displayed by the
LED.

Time limit function:

^

for 30 minutes at outside temperatures above approx. 7 °C

^

for 5 minutes at outside temperatures below approx. 7 °C

^

for 5 minutes at AC OFF

100 % automatic recirculated air is possible for one time only for 30 mins after ignition is switched "ON". After expiry of this period the system switches
to 80 % recirculated air or fresh air.

On model 209.4, the system switches to 100 % fresh air when driving with an open soft top. When the air recirculation switch (N22s2) is operated
manually, only the LEDs are actuated.

Switching off recirculated air function:

^

by pressing the air recirculation switch (N22s2) again

^

by activating the defroster function

^

through ignition OFF

^

through expiry of the timeout through switching to AC OFF

^

through switching off the blower (position 0)

Automatic control of the fresh air and recirculated air flaps via the outside temperatures

When outside temperatures are high > 20 °C, recirculation is automatically varied from 0 % to 80 % or 100 % in order to cool the vehicle interior more
quickly or to reduce the cooling output demand.

Once a time limit of 30 min. has elapsed, recirculation is automatically switched back from 100 % to maximum 90 %.

In the event of a problem, the defined end positions can be retrieved using STAR DIAGNOSIS and checked (evaluation run). An adjustment run must be
carried out after being replaced, i.e. the final positions of "flap OPEN" and "flap CLOSED" are defined and retained.
