module (N22/7) and the AC bus depending on the position of the temperature buttons and the interior temperature actually measured and move the blend
air flaps. The blend air flaps open or close the air passage through the heating system heat exchanger to mix heated and fresh air or cooled air in the
correct proportion that is needed to achieve the desired interior temperature.
The specified flap angles of the left blending air flap actuator (M2/6) and the right blending air flap actuator (M2/7) are determined by the C-AAC
[K-KLA] control and operating module (N22/7) as a function of the following information:

Specified temperature set at the temperature buttons,
^
Measured interior temperature at the in-car temperature sensor (N22/7b1) in the C-AAC [K-KLA] control and operating module (N22/7),
^
Coolant temperature.
Blending air flaps closed:
no air through the mixing chamber and thus no heating of the air.
Blending air flaps open:
all air flows through the mixing chamber with maximum heating of air.
Left defroster vent flap actuator motor (M2/8) and right defroster vent flap actuator motor (M2/9)
The left defroster flap actuator motor (M2/8) and right defroster flap actuator motor (M2/9) operate the defroster flaps to control the air flow to the
windshield defroster nozzle and side window defroster nozzles. By pressing the defroster button of the comfort C-AAC [K-KLA] control and operating
module (N22/7) the left defroster vent flap actuator motor (M2/8) and right defroster vent flap actuator motor (M2/9) are actuated via the AC bus and
operate the defroster flaps, which assume the following positions for various requirements:
Actuation for "DEFROST"
defroster flaps 100 % open
Actuation for "REST"
defroster flaps 66 % open
Actuation with ignition Off
defroster flaps 100 % open
Manual flap control

Depending on the following values, the defroster vent flaps are

Left footwell flap actuator motor (M2/10) and right footwell flap actuator motor (M2/11)
The left footwell flap actuator motor (M2/10) and right footwell flap actuator motor (M2/11) operate the footwell flaps to control the air flow to the front
footwell and rear footwell.
By turning the air distribution switch in the C-AAC [K-KLA] control and operating module (N22/7), the left footwell flap actuator motor (M2/10) and
the right footwell flap actuator motor (M2/11) are activated via the AC bus. The left footwell flap actuator motor (M2/10) and the right footwell flap
actuator motor (M2/11) thus control the footwell flaps, which assume the following positions for various requirements:
Actuation at "defrost"
footwell flaps 0 % (closed)
Actuation for "REST"
footwell flaps 100 % open
Actuation with ignition Off
