Correct the rear inclination angle (3) 

In the calculation example the front and center articulation angle are within tolerance, the rear articulation angle (3) is outside the tolerance

To correct the rear articulation angle (3), attach a 2 mm thick shim between the rear axle housing and rubber mount, in addition to an existing shim/to
existing shims (arrow). A 1 mm thick shim changes the articulation angle by approx. 0.25 degrees to 0.33 degrees.
Shims are available as replacements parts in thicknesses from 1 mm to 4 mm.

The bolt length does not have to be increased when using shims up to a maximum of 6 mm thickness.
If a shim with a thickness more than 6 mm is required, the front rubber mounts of the rear axle mount should be checked for signs of settling or wear
and should be replaced if necessary.

Correct the front articulation angle (1) and center articulation angle (2) 

Shims in steel or aluminum will need to be fabricated on-site to correct the inclination angle. The dimension for the shims must be taken from the
corresponding part.

Depending on the correction the shim must be installed between the:
^

Rear engine crossmember and frame floor.

^

Rear engine crossmember and rear engine mount.

^

Driveshaft intermediate bearing and frame floor.

A 1 mm thick shim changes the inclination angle by approx. 0.17 degrees.

When using shims > 2 mm thick, increase the bolt length by 5 mm.
If you determine that the shim depth required to obtain the desired correction exceeds 5 mm, proceed to inspect the front and rear engine mounts for
signs of wear and compression, replace as indicated.

Carry out a check measurement again each time the articulation angle is corrected.
