Restricted maximum speed for winter tires with identification "V" (speed index)

For V tires the maximum tire load capacity according to ETRTO (European Tire and Rim Technical Organization) standard is only given up to 210
km/h.

As speed increases beyond 210 km/h the permissible tire load capacity is reduced by the so-called load allowance (1.5 % per 5 km/h) up to 91 % at
240 km/h.

This may mean that the vehicle cannot be operated without restriction up to 240 km/h. The maximum speed results depending on the load index of the
tire and permissible axle load of the vehicle (as per number 16 of the vehicle registration document).

This can be determined on a vehicle-specific basis with the aid of the corresponding load allowance table for the V winter tires. A corresponding M &
S maximum speed label is to be attached in the driver's field of vision.

The recommended wheel/tire combinations apply only when the dimensions are entered in the vehicle documentation at the factory or when a
corresponding part certification is present. For wheel/tire combinations which are not entered in the certificate of approval and the CoC paper
(certificate of conformity), give the customer a corresponding expert's report on the parts or a certificate of approval.

All the wheel/tire combinations listed here may be fitted without further approval, only if they are listed in the certificate of approval under item 15 or
in the CoC paper under items 32 and 50 or the required Technical Inspection Association reports are available.

The respective size designation of the rim is only binding for the specified vehicle model series. Deviations in the contour of the wheel or the brake
system can lead to hitting on adjacent components on other models in spite of the same nominal dimensions and therefore affecting the operating
safety.

In the Federal Republic of Germany, modification approval from an officially recognized expert or tester from a technical testing point for motor
vehicles or from a testing engineer from an officially recognized supervisory organization is required for wheel/tire combinations which require
conversion work on the body and/or chassis.

All recommended tire makes are provided with the identifier "MO" (Mercedes Original).
