GF82.95-P-3211TX MB-Info And Breakdown Assistance Button Group, Component Description
- with CODE (359) TELE AID emergency call system
Component Identification
Location
The MB-Info and breakdown assistance button group (S93/6) is located in the center console to the right of the UPCI [UHI] portable CTEL holder
(Universal Portable CTEL Interface) (A34/15).
Design
Basically, the MB-Info and breakdown assistance button group is set up as follows:
^
2 integrated light emitting diodes for the night illumination (circuit 58d)
^
2 integrated light emitting diodes for the display of the operating conditions (breakdown and MB-Info)
^
Both buttons are equipped with a control resistor that is in parallel to the switch contact
Task
The MB-Info and breakdown assistance button group can be used to trigger either the roadside assistance call or the MB-Info call dependent upon the
operation direction. Moreover, it indicates the particular operating condition to the driver via the 2 integrated light emitting diodes (LED).
Function
In park position, an electric current flows in the MB-Info and breakdown assistance button group (in parallel to the switch contact) via the installed
control resistors. This indicates to the emergency call system control unit (N123/4) that the feed lines and the ground line are OK. When the MB-Info
and breakdown assistance button group is pressed, the control resistor is being bridged via the switch contact. The MB-Info and breakdown assistance
button group is read in via 2 discrete lines by the emergency call system control unit. When the button group is pressed, the emergency call system
control unit then transmits the corresponding request. Next, the emergency call system control unit actuates the LED of the triggered function to provide
a visual feedback signal to the driver.
