Audio system operation on multifunction steering wheel

With the aid of the buttons on the left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110), right multifunction steering wheel button group (S111) and the
multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1) various controlled systems can be operated via the MOST bus (Media Oriented System
Transport) and information on the systems displayed. These include:

Radio (A2), CD disk drive, CD changer (A2/6)

^

Telephone

Data exchange between the instrument cluster and the radio ensues via the MOST bus and CAN-B (Controller Area Network bus Class B (interior)).

All the button operations on the multifunction steering wheel are read in pulse-coded by the steering column module (N80) and placed on the interior
CAN-B.

The instrument cluster recognizes the coded messages and authorizes the display of the system active at any give time (audio or telephone) via the
multifunction display. Parallel to this the radio picks up the commands to control the functions from the MOST bus.
