The telephone connections are normally processed via the telephone antenna (A2/22) (model 211.2) or via the telephone antenna (A2/49a1) (model
211.0) (up to 31.5.06), or the telephone antenna (A2/49a1) (as of 1.6.06), which is located on the roof. In the event of a defect, e.g. after a rollover, 2
emergency antennas are located in the rear bumper of the vehicle, which basically consist of the emergency call system antenna splitter (A2/25) and the 2
emergency call backup antennas (A2/50).
The emergency call system control unit (N123/4) recognizes the antenna failure and then automatically actuates the emergency call backup antennas
(A2/50 via a discrete line.
