Sunroof / Moonroof Cable: Service and Repair

AR77.20-P-1400F Remove/Install Control Cable

- with CODE (414a) Electric glass sliding/pop-up roof

Removal, Installation

Remove inside rearview mirror

2.1 Remove front dome lamp
2.2 Remove overhead control panel control module

Actuate sliding roof switch in closing direction until siding roof drive switches off

Remove sliding/pop-up roof panel

Remove water drain trough (7)

Unscrew screws (1)

Torx Bit set: See "Special Tools" below.

Screw on sliding roof drive:

Torx:  4 Nm
Allen:  4 Nm

Loosen screw (2), disengage sliding roof drive from sliding/pop-up roof frame

Screw on sliding/pop-up roof frame:  8 Nm

NOTE:  Until drive gear (14) is no longer engaged with pull cable (11)

Unscrew screws (3)

Unscrew screws (4)

Remove covers (5) in direction of arrow

Slide tilting bracket approx. 10 cm toward rear

Push pull cable (11) forward

Pull out pull cable (11)

Install in opposite order

NOTE:  Installation:  Before fastening the sliding/pop-up roof drive, check position of tip (15) in relation to edge of lever (16). The tip in the
opening at the tilting bracket must coincide with the edge of the lever in front. If necessary correct tilting bracket.
