Open ashtray

Unclip center console cover (2) in the direction of the arrow from center console

NOTE:  On vehicles with code (489a) Airmatic (semi-active air suspension), (220a) Parktronic system (PTS (889) Keyless Go, (423a) automatic
5-speed transmission (NAT), (219a) Distronic(DTR), (228) stationary heater, do not separate the electrical connectors at lower control panel
control module (N72).

Unscrew screws (3)

Lift paneling on left (4) and paneling on right (5) at front and remove

Unscrew bolts (6)

Remove stowage compartment (1) from the center console     

7

Install in the reverse order

Move passenger seat completely toward front

Disconnect ground line of battery

Open cover (2) of stowage box (3)

NOTE:  Actuate left release.

Remove insert from stowage box (3)         

5

Pull out baseplate (4) using pulling hook

See "Special Tools" given below.

NOTE:  Installation: Floor panel (4) must latch audibly.

Unclip rear wall (5) with screwdriver (6) from stowage box (3) and place in the stowage box (3) to the side

Disconnect electrical connector (7) from interior socket (X58/1)

With the assembly wedge (6) unclip the stowage compartment (1) from the stowage box (3) and remove

NOTE:  At the same time pull the electrical lines of the interior socket (X58/1) out of the stowage box (3).
