Depending upon the following variables the air flaps are opened up to 100 % by the center outlet flap actuator motor (M2/22) in line with a defined
characteristic.

Air flap control via the center nozzle
In manual mode the air flap settings are determined by the selector on the center nozzle.
Blending air flap actuator motor left (M2/6) and blending air flap actuator motor right (M2/7)
The left (M2/6) and right (M2/7) blending air flap actuator motors are used to adjust the ventilation temperature of the heating and air conditioning
system.
The left (M2/6) and right (M2/7) blending air flap actuator motors are actuated via the AAC control and operating module (N22) and the AC bus
depending upon the position of the temperature selector wheels and the effective interior temperature in line with defined characteristics and move the
blend air flaps. The flaps open or close the passage of air through the heating heat exchanger to mix, heated, fresh or cooled air in the correct proportion
required to achieve the desired interior temperature. The specified flap angles of the blending air flaps are determined by the ACC control and operating
module (N22) as a function of the following information:

selected specified temperature at the temperature selector wheel
^
measured interior temperature at the in-car temperature sensors (B10/4, N70b1)
^
Coolant temperature
blending air flaps closed
no air through the mixing chamber and thus no heating of the air.
blending air flap open
all air flows through the mixing chamber with maximum heating of air.
Defroster vent flap actuator motors left and right (M2/16)
The defroster vent flap actuator motor on the left and right (M2/16)
operates the defroster vent flaps to actuate the air flow to the windshield defroster nozzle and side window defroster nozzles. By pressing the window
defrost switch (N22s3) on the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit (N22) the defroster vent flap actuator motor on the left and right (M2/16) is
actuated via the AC bus and operates the defroster vent flaps.
With "defrosting" and "0" the defroster nozzle flaps are 100% open.

The defroster vent flaps are opened depending on the following values

Footwell flap actuator motors left and right (M2/15)
The left and right footwell flaps actuator motor (M2/15) actuates the footwell flaps to regulate the air flow to the front footwell and rear footwell.
By operating the air distribution buttons of the AAC control and operating module (N22) the left and right footwell flap actuator motor (M2/15) is
actuated via the AC bus and thus controls the footwell flaps, which assume the following positions for the various requirements:
Actuation at "defrost"
footwell flaps 0 % (closed)
actuation at "REST"
in accordance with regulation
actuation at "0"
no change
